Ideas For A Tropical Themed Wedding

If you’re heading to the islands for your wedding, then you’ll have all the attributes you need, but if you’re having a tropical themed wedding, here a few ways to add island style to your wedding.
The best thing to do is separate your budget into categories, such as wedding flowers, reception flowers, reception decorations and an extra category for the item you run into that you must have but didn’t plan for.
The big thing about a budget is to stick to it, so shop until you find the item you want that’s still in your budget. Remember, that along with typical lush foliage come the colors of the tropic such as the pastels but also the jewel tones of the sea.
Look to a large tropical fish supply store to find a variety of jewel tone rocks and artifacts. Colors such as deep fuchsia, vibrant blue or purple, deep yellow and turquoise with the deep greens of the sea thrown in. You’ll find different types of rocks and such that are not expensive but can be placed in a variety of places to add these bright colors to your wedding pallete.
You can find a variety of fresh, silk, and other fabric foliage to fill the area with the deep greens of the jungle islands. Just look to major plant stores to rent, garden stores, and of course, rental party places to get the large plants and greenery that makes the difference in the feel of a room
You may look to a wholesale supplier for these larger size plants, purchase silk or fabric, then purchase the simple terra cotta containers that are light and easy to move such as the plastic ones. You may also find larger glass planters rather inexpensively and they will throw the colors of the room and light throughout the area.
Lighting is just as important as your colors in a tropical themed wedding. Look to tiki torches if you’re outside and use the bug citronella oil to help chase away critters. If you’re inside, find someone who can turn these into candlelight torches with a single candlelight bulb. Of course, if you burn the tiki torches indoors you may wind up with an outside wedding after all due to the fumes, so be careful with them.
A wedding done in the tropical style can not only be fun, but also whimsical, set up an area with a picture perfect setting and provide leis and a few grass skirts for your wedding guests to have fun pictures to remember the day.
